Zuma’s value revisited: As a % of tax, 189 times more than China’s Xi Jinping

All fingers point to an overpaid, under-delivering South African president. And yes, it’s been argued that if you look for the stats you will find them, but they just don’t look right when compared against the global giants. President Zuma was top in burgernomics, salary as a % of GDP and when compared against the average earnings of South Africa’s citizen. The latest approach looks at the President’s salary as a percentage of tax collected. The statistics were put together by Biznews community member Brendon Johns and the numberss are mind-blowing. The biggest gap in all three previous measurements has been with China’s Xi Jinping and the latest statistics are no different. Through this method Zuma’s relative salary is 189 times more than the Chinese leader.
