đź”’ WORLDVIEW: Some red letter days for your diary, and join me for a drink next month

I’ll be back in South Africa next month to host a series of presentations on how to position your investments in the current turbulent climate. Have been doing some lateral thinking so intend sharing fresh ideas – and convincing you that every cloud really does have a silver lining.

We’re calling the presentations “The Upside of Down: Investing in a sub-investment grade market”. They will be held on Monday 19th June in Cape Town; Tuesday 20th June in Durban and Wednesday 21st June in Johannesburg. The events start at 6pm and will be done and dusted in an hour. I’ll also use the opportunity to reflect on our Global Share portfolio.

Thanks to our sponsor, Standard Bank, we have 20 tickets to each event earmarked for Biznews Premium subscribers. As demand always outstrips supply on these occasions, if you would like a seat please drop Jeanette a mail as soon as possible – her address is [email protected].

After checking out the market and testing the software, we’re now ready to launch the second portfolio webinar – monthly updates on the SA Champions portfolio which kicked off at the end of January. The eight JSE-listed stocks held there are showing a reasonable return after costs.

We’re still in the process of refining the portfolio. I’m likely to have finished research into the potential new acquisition by the time we kick off our first webinar, which will be next Tuesday the 6th June at 12:30pm South African time. As a Biznews Premium subscriber your seat is already reserved. But you do need to register beforehand – do so by clicking here.

Our other share-based investment offering, the Biznews Global Share portfolio, continues to steam ahead. Our next online update will be on Thursday, June 29th. If you happened to miss last week’s webinar, it’s now available on the Premium section of the site, accessible by clicking here.

While we’re on the subject of presentations, we’re delighted to be hosting former SA president FW de Klerk at the next event of the Biznews London Forum. So here’s your “save the date” notice – please diarise 13 September in London. More details in due course.

And finally, Biznews will be providing some pretty unique coverage of the British and Irish Lions Tour to New Zealand, a once-in-12-years event that kicks off on the weekend. We are privileged to have Springbok captain Bob Skinstad on board for the entire 10 match tour – offering his unique insights ahead of and after each game. For the rugby fan, it’s unmissable.

Thanks as always for your support. Please diarise the dates of the events – and look forward to engaging with you there.
