You’ve heard of citizenship by investment programs in countries like Portugal, Malta and Greece. But did you know America offers such a program also?

The United States has been offering an immigrant investor program since the 1990s, but it’s relatively unknown in South Africa.

LCR Capital Partners will be holding seminars for investors interested in obtaining a U.S. Green card, in Johannesburg and Cape Town, in October. If you’d like to attend, or receive more information, please register here,

This will be LCR Capital’s fourth seminar tour in South Africa this year to meet interested investors and provide more information on the EB-5 Investor Visa Program to America.

Marc J. Sharpe, Partner & Managing Director at LCR Capital, will provide information on what the Immigrant Investor Program is and how it works. More specifically, Mr Sharpe will provide an overview of LCR’s investment offering for South Africans, namely the Surf Club Four Seasons Hotel & Residences project in Miami.

Thomas Gunnerson, an associate at Wolfsdorf Rosenthal immigration attorneys, will discuss the legal aspects of the program, as well as tax implications and dual citizenship options for South Africans. Wolfsdorf Rosenthal is a top-rated immigration law firm with 30 years of experience providing exceptional quality immigration and visa services in the United States.

What is the EB-5 Immigrant Investor program?

The EB-5 program allows high net worth individuals to apply for a U.S. green card by investing a minimum of $500 000 (± R6,500,000) into U.S. businesses or real estate developments that create at least 10 permanent jobs for Americans. The program enables investors and their immediate families to obtain permanent residency in America.

LCR Capital has transformed this U.S. visa option into a standardized, transparent financial product for South African investors, designed to simplify the immigration process and protect your invested capital.

Since 2013, around 100 South African investors have invested in the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program and have since either permanently relocated to the USA, or remained in South Africa as dual residents.

Do I qualify for the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program?

  • Do you have $500,000 (± R6,500,00) in liquid funds to invest for 5 years?
  • Are your funds legally sourced, and can you provide documentation to show this?
  • Do you have a clean police record (i.e. no criminal convictions)?

If you answered yes to the questions above, you should qualify for the EB-5 program. If you applied today, you, your spouse, and all children under the age of 21, could obtain U.S. green cards by mid-2019.
