Logical reason for the SA success in global food industry

There are little pieces of South Africa springing up all around the world. Especially in the food sector. It seems where Nando’s pioneered, many others are now following.

In Davos last week the SA-born catering company Liquid Chefs supplied around half the canapés and refreshments. And yesterday I was treated to lunch at Vivat Bacchus, a classy SA owned steakhouse near London Bridge.

We shouldn’t be surprised. The hospitality sector has always suited those with a bent towards hard work and excessive dedication to duty. Two qualities the Calvinistic Saffers possess in abundance. Ask any of their British employers.
