Been doing a bit of surveying recently and received a clear message. Members of the BizNews Premium Club support our efforts because they value this independent voice. They also like my daily missive, but want simplicity. Sharing insights, but provide an inside track, not lengthy prose. Here goes. Hope I’m getting closer.
___STEADY_PAYWALL___Yesterday I followed up on a couple of recent interviews. First, with Phil Craig of the Cape Independence Advocacy Group about disparaging comments made by WC Premier Alan Winde in our interview last week. Craig says he’s frustrated by Winde’s ignorance about the independence process. Fighting talk. Watch it here.
The other one was with Herman Mashaba (click here), who is proving to be a better politician than most expected. Flushed with a surprise 10% vote share in a by-election in rural KZN (after a similar slice in rural Limpopo), Mashaba is now urging other members of the Rainbow Coalition to bring Gayton McKenzie’s PA into the fold.
He reckons just affording the PA leader the respect he deserves will be enough. Herman says he’s acting independently in calling for a no-confidence vote in the Joburg Metro, but I’d bet a Dollar to a Rand Gayton’s agreed to switch. Again. The two got on great at the BizNews Conference in March.
