Being South African and a newsman, the weekend developments in Russia were riveting. Autocratic Putin is an evil force, so democrats welcome any challenge to his power. But it’s hard to root for the thuggish Prigozhin, so like when we Hammers fans watch Man City v Man Utd, I was a fascinated neutral observer.
