Iโm delighted with the tribeโs strong takeup of tickets for BizNews@10 on Friday, 4 August. Seems many are making a weekend of it – a smart call as the whales will have arrived for the annual visit, and thereโs plenty of reasonably priced accommodation in Hermanus (which is also the best on-shore whale-watching sire in the world).
Over the weekend, Action SAโs founder and leader Herman Mashaba confirmed that he would join as a keynote speaker, closing out a group that has been charged with reminding us of the huge potential this country possesses. At the very least, those attending will leave Hermanus knowing how much is at stake in the 2024 Election.
___STEADY_PAYWALL___Paradoxically, the other side is also very much in evidence right now. Last night I published the latest contribution from Magnus Heystek (click here) on the site. In it, he lays out the sad future which awaits if the current misgovernance is allowed to continue. My dream is for Magnus to one day believe SA is investible again.
The fiercely independent financial advisorโs arguments are compelling. On the other hand, SA is a democracy. So the power lies with the people. At BizNews, we never underestimate the intelligence of those we serve, but we also donโt overestimate their knowledge. The next year is critical for us to share how a better future is possible.
Sterkte.
Alec
