Veteran Comrades runner Graeme Fraser has died at the age of 65, the Comrades Marathon Association said in a statement on Wednesday.
A third-place Comrades Marathon finisher in 1982 and 1983, Fraser was a notable member of the Comrades Green Number Club.
Fraser passed away on Sunday after a battle with a degenerative illness.
During his Comrades running years — 1975 to 1988 — Fraser claimed 6 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Thursday at the Kloof Methodist Church, in Durban.
