While going through our newest products last night, it struck me how producing them would have been impossible just a few years ago. But here they are: a clickable PDF which radically transforms the “newspaper” experience; and a punchy “radio” program, accessible on demand and transcribed to enable a quick scan or deeper analysis.

Advancing technology has played a major part in making iconoclastic products like these possible. But without the talent that undererstands the tech and applies it in a practical manner, such services would remain the preserve of those with abundant financial resources.
On Sunday, it will be exactly a decade since Malcolm Gladwell wrote what for me remains the seminal article about the shift from capital to talent. In it, he tells the story of former trade unionist Marvin Miller who transformed the power balance of America’s national sport. The pendulum has continued to swing that way ever since.
