With the exception of the few who found 2020’s investment rockets (see story below), the old year departed with little affection. The global reaction to Covid-19 impacted all of mankind, mostly negatively. Quite how badly will only be apparent over time, with taxpayers carrying the debt burden for years to come.

But every new year also brings hope, and in that regard 2021 is up there with the best of them. Encouragement stems from numerous coronavirus vaccines that have been passed by medical authorities and are now ready for distribution. As a result, in 12 months time, the pandemic will (hopefully) feel like a bad dream.
