Today’s Worldview is a result of a fruitful hour I spent reading through the transcript of French president Emmanuel Macron’s groundbreaking speech on Tuesday at La Sorbonne. The part which caught my attention was his rationale for jacking up development aid to Africa – specifically lobbying for a Europe-wide tax on financial transactions to inject billions into an African Marshall Plan-lookalike. There’s also a new piece on Bitcoin that you simply have to read.
