EOH’s Asher Bohbot honoured as CNBC Africa applauds business leaders

Television network CNBC Africa announced the winners of its All Africa Business Leaders Awards in what the company describes as a ceremony to honour business excellence across the continent.

Among the winners presented yesterday was Asher Bohbot, CEO of outsourcing company EOH, who was voted the Southern African Business Leader of the Year, while Fred Robertson, executive chairman of Brimstone Investment, was named Southern Africa’s Entrepreneur of the Year.

In a statement released by EOH today, the company notes Bohbot’s vision and drive to formulate solutions-based business and IT strategies is key to his leadership pedigree.

Robertson gained experience on national and international business stages through his directorship and co-founding of numerous black economic empowerment companies, including the JSE-listed brokerage, Brimstone Investment, where he serves as chairman.

Other winners included Gil Oved and Ran Neu-Ner, who were jointly awarded the Young Business Leader of the Year accolade for their work at one of SA’s leading activations agency that caters to marketing, media and advertising.

The 2014 Southern African Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon Phuthuma Nhleko, a business leader who helped shape the region’s business climate through a dedication to best practice and innovation. Nhleko, a former CEO of the MTN Group, has had a long career, which has seen him serving on the boards of several major companies, including the GSM Association, Worldwide African Investment Holdings, Johnnic Holdings, Nedbank Group and Old Mutual SA.
