In its 4th year The CEO SleepOut™ has raised more money than any other single event in South African history. C-Suite Members, Business Leaders, Influencers, Schools and South African citizens come together to uplift those less fortunate. In 2016 the then Minister of Trade and Industry, Rob Davies declared The SleepOut™ Movement a protected event, which elevated it to the status of the 2010 FIFA World Cup heralding a new era for social innovation in South Africa.

Dr. Makaziwe Mandela, Nelson Mandela’s eldest daughter and Patron of The 2018 SleepOut™ Movement states, “We are calling on all South Africans to stand together as a united South Africa to honour Madiba’s legacy by taking part in The Nelson Mandela South Africa SleepOut™ – Empowered by Liliesleaf: For The Tomorrow Trust taking place on what would have been Tata’s 100th birthday on the 18th July this year”.
Any company, community group, organisation, team or club, including friends and families of 12 or more, can play their part in this Global Movement for Change by registering and taking part countrywide in any safe outdoor venue of their choosing in solidarity with participants of The Nelson Mandela Legacy SleepOut™ – Robben Island Edition. The cost to register per group is just R2,000 to participate under The Nelson Mandela South Africa SleepOut™ banner where participants are encouraged to collect the much-needed goods and items as requested by their chosen Satellite Beneficiaries’ wish list. The fee of R2,000 will get you an info pack that will include guidance on branding your event under The Nelson Mandela South Africa SleepOut™ banner as well ideas to help you prepare for your in-house SleepOut™.
Dr. Mandela states, “By participating in this event you will be assisting under resourced schools, by collecting items for an officially appointed Satellite Beneficiary of your choice in your Province.
The CEO SleepOut™ Events 2015 – 2017, donated over R38 million, supported 315 beneficiaries and involved over 470 business leaders. The 2018 SleepOut™ Movement presents several unique opportunities for everyone in South Africa to #RiseToTheChallenge in honour of Nelson Mandela’s 100th year and raise awareness of the plight and injustice of homelessness, as well as, raise funds to assist in eradicating this social inequality, in a series of memorable Events.
