Hi there,
South Africans are accused of taking too many holidays. We probably do. But long weekends provide breathing space, time to re-assess, reflect and contemplate. All of which can help us stop doing so much and sometimes even pick more appropriate pathways.
Part of my break was spent having a closer look at my neglected Facebook page (www.facebook.com/alechoggza). It’s been fun engaging on it again and will be spending a lot more time there in future. If you haven’t connected yet, please consider “liking” the page. That will ensure you get tipped off when fresh info is posted during my trip to Omaha at the end of the month for Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway AGM.
Biznews.com remained active over the weekend, with the anti-Zuma video rant by Harvard educated poet AE Ballakisten drawing lots of interest. It’s really powerful and well worth investing the four minutes required to watch. My colleague Marika Sboros has been rather busy investigating something called the “weapons effect”, a psychological angle which Oscar Pistorius’s defence team somehow missed. Marika concludes in another of her excellent articles on the subject that because of the impact it has, OP may well be innocent of murder. Her well researched piece, written over the weekend, was scheduled for publication first thing this morning. I was enthralled. You will be too.
Best
Alec
