Turning cents into Rands – Digital piggy bank lets you stash your change

Piggy banks, or in my case an oversized empty whisky bottle, were once traditional places to store leftover change as kids.

The cents would then become Rands, and be spent on frivolous items. Fast forward to 2017 and you get a digital piggy bank that invests these cents into top South African companies.

An app called Stash, in conjunction with Liberty, allows users to round up card purchases to the nearest R10, R20 or R50, and then automatically invests that change into a tax-free savings fund with no costs.

Look after the cents and the Rands will take care of themselves.
