🔒 Boardroom Talk: The story of how YouTube rose from start-up to dominating video-on-demand sector

By Alec Hogg

Another book that grabbed my attention over the holidays is Mark Bergen’s chronicle of the world’s video-on-demand gorilla – titled “Like, Comment, Subscribe – Inside YouTube’s Chaotic Rise of World’s Dominance.”

It helped clear up my confusion around YouTube, which has become BizNews’s most important partner. A full 75% of the time our tribe engages with us comes via the BizNewsTV channel on YouTube (20% is through the website and 5% on BizNewsRadio).

Bergen’s treatise tells the story of the disruptor which struggled with becoming an incumbent. This a tale with lessons for all entrepreneurs – and anyone who has wondered why the channel chose to ban contrarian narratives during the Pandemic.

As with yesterday’s recommendation on Tedlow’s latest book, we’ve asked Exclusive Books to have this one available in its Drakensberg pop-up store at BNC#5.
