A recent investor brief caught my attention, it reflected on Charles Darwin’s quote: “It’s not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.”

In the same week, South African born Elon Musk’s Tesla overtook General Motors as America’s most valuable car company.

And while the darling of Silicon Valley has yet to turn a profit, critics believe its success points to a new reality in the industry.

It’s not that GM hasn’t produced an electric car – the Chevrolet Bolt – but it’s the Tesla eco-system which has investors excited.
