South Africa's Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas, who has said he was offered the Finance Minister post by business friends of President Jacob Zuma, will take part in an African National Congress probe into so-called "state-capture" by business, Business Day said, citing Jonas.

The allegations about the role of Zuma's friends, the Guptas, have fueled disgruntlement with the president that peaked in December when he replaced his respected finance minister, Nhlanhla Nene, with a little-known lawmaker, sparking a selloff of the rand and the nation's bonds.
