SA President Jacob Zuma hospitalised
Spokesman for the Presidency Mac Maharaj today announced that South African President Jacob Zuma (right) has been admitted to hospital for tests. Maharaj said doctors are satisfied with his condition. Zuma turned 72 in April.
Yesterday Zuma was advised to rest following a demanding election and transition programme to the new administration and said he would take a few days off from public engagements while continuing to perform official duties from home.
He initially agreed to officiate at Friday evening's swearing in ceremony of the Deputy Minister of Science and Technology-designate Ms Zanele Magwaza-Msibi but Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa took over that responsibility.
