The ripples of disruption: Uber blows a hole in airport finances

A recent article in The Economist detailing how US airports were losing car rental and parking revenues due to Uber and Lyft tweaked my interest.

The impact on that line of revenue was so big that airports initially looked at ways to ban the services, but that didn’t work. They’ve now been forced to look at other revenue generating options.

A fascinating thing about disruption is it’s not only the stone landing in the water that’s relevant — it’s the ripples that form around it that sometimes cause the biggest waves.
