Six months ago the world watched the Turks and Ukrainians. The year before it was the Taiwanese. While South Africans have been caught up in the unprecedented (for us) drama of EFF members fighting their eviction for disrupting Parliament, pugilism by politicians is really nothing new. Young democracies have a tendency towards turbulence. But when events like this occur, it still makes great news footage. Here’s the full video of the event highly politicised South Africans are talking about – unaware that rather than shocked, the rest of the world is actually chuckling.
