Following a shock election where the African National Congress (ANC) lost its majority, the party considers alliances with the Democratic Alliance (DA) and Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) for government stability. The ANC rejects partnerships with the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and former president Jacob Zuma's MK party due to ideological differences.
