Vietnam’s communists, feted by ANC, embrace Musk and Milei’s Big State cuts
Vietnam's Communist Party is embarking on its most ambitious administrative overhaul since the 1980s. Aiming to reduce bureaucracy by 20%, the government plans to merge or abolish ministries, cut jobs, and scrap media outlets. While necessary to curb costs and boost efficiency, the reforms could temporarily slow decision-making and strain civil servants. Businesses cautiously welcome the changes, which come amid a global wave of government downsizing inspired by leaders like Elon Musk and Javier Milei.
