Newly crowned FIFA World Cup champions’ triumphant celebrations took a controversial turn which resulted in the planet’s most sought after trophy being chipped.

Fresh from their historic 1-0 win over Argentina, the Germans have so far been enjoying a heroes’ status with trophy parade taking place across Germany.
The celebrations were, seemingly, too hard-core as it is reported that the replica trophy was chipped during the festivities by an unknown German star.
German Football Federation chief was quoted as saying by Die Welt: “at one point, a small piece of our World Cup trophy was chipped off…But do not worry! We have specialists on the case who can fix it.”
It is unlikely that the culprit will face harsh consequences given the nature of what this German team has achieved in Brazil. However, based on Niersbarch remarks, even if they wanted to enforce some sort of a punishment they wouldn’t have been able to – because they don’t know who the player is.
“We have investigated persistently who it was that damaged the trophy, but the investigation was concluded without a result.”
The incident will unlikely overshadow Germany fourth World Cup final victory, likewise, FIFA won’t be overly concerned considering the fact that they still have the original trophy (estimated to be around the value of R144 million) in their headquarters.
