Amazon gears up for driverless vehicles with Aurora – The Wall Street Journal
EDINBURGH — Global online retail giant Amazon advanced its plans to become a major force in driverless vehicles by attracting additional sizeable investments in start-up Aurora. Analysts are excited about the Bezos dream team headed by the person who started Google's push into driverless cars. Chris Urmson, the chief executive officer, also has working with him: Sterling Anderson, Aurora's chief product officer, of Tesla Inc.'s Autopilot team that developed driver-assistance technology for the electric-car maker; and Drew Bagnell, the chief technology officer, who was instrumental in the development of Uber's Advanced Technologies Group.
