JOHANNESBURG — The potentially disruptive nature of blockchain technology has been documented in audit, finance and even on sport fields. The latest real life example of its ability is seen in the advertising space. Big brands like Anheuser-Busch InBev and Kellogg are trialling the technology in an attempt to avoid a 'tech tax' and make the sales process more transparent. A tech tax is what advertisers end up paying to the intricate chain of vendors between a marketer and the website that runs an ad. There are however drawbacks to the process.
