Chinese AI firm tries to trip up Apple as its sales rise in China – Wall Street Journal
Apple users know that Siri, the voice assistant, has been ahead of its time. It was introduced in 2011 with Apple's iPhone 4S. This was well before the likes of Google Assistant and Samsung's Bixby developed the smarts of today. But now, eight years after first suing Apple, Chinese company Shanghai Zhizhen Network Technology is at it again, accusing the US company of infringing its voice assistant patent. The company has also pushed for Apple to be banned from selling its products in China. The Wall Street Journal reports this comes at a time where Apple sales in China are on the rise. – Nadim Nyker
