I took heart from a story today about a German teen who, on the way home from his successful driver's licence test, was clocked going double the speed limit and lost the right to drive. This story is a lesson for us all about the dangers of hubris, the fleeting nature of so many achievements, and the wisdom of having age limits for driving. As the German police reportedly wrote in their statement on the arrest: "Some things last forever – others not for an hour."
