How to protect yourself from Covid-19 when you visit the supermarket – The Wall Street Journal
In my neck of the woods, it's impossible to get a home delivery any time before my family starves, such is the demand for slots. So, my husband has been making occasional visits to the supermarket. He gets to the store early, wearing a mask meant for handymen – because that's all we have been able to get. And, he wears plastic disposable gloves. He keeps his distance from others in the supermarket. And when he gets home, we spray everything he has bought with an industrial bathroom cleaner that promises to wipe out bacteria and viruses. Then we dispose of gloves, wash our hands and hope that the deadly Covid-19 virus hasn't made it alive into our home. A lot of our precautions are guess-work and we know that masks don't really help, but we will try anything. The Wall Street Journal has put together a list of steps that we can all take to protect ourselves, based on what scientists know to date about how the new coronavirus spreads. – Jackie Cameron
