It's hard not to be infected with holiday fever when you live in Cape Town, which is why I routinely bunked work on a Friday afternoon to play golf with a view of Robben Island, Table Mountain and beyond when I lived in the Mother City. And why it was easy to succumb to the temptation of a Saturday morning brunch in Green Point or a seafood lunch at the bustling V&A Waterfront. Thankfully, I could soak in the cosmopolitan atmosphere on a relatively limited budget. International tourists, it seems, aren't particularly price sensitive. The summit offers 360-degree views on a clear day.
