After more than two months of working from home and self-isolating, I ventured out this morning for the first time, with face mask and plastic gloves, to renew my driving licence and do some shopping. As a newbie to navigating Covid-19 rules, I was soon ticked off for taking too long in an aisle and not following the arrows to adhere to the right formation in a shop. When I got home, I spritzed my shoes with industrial strength anti-viral spray and left them at the door, hoping I'd managed to avoid the dreaded Covid-19 virus and not knowing, really, whether any of the measures I'd taken were really effective.
