Koenigsegg: 0 to 300km/h, back to zero – under 18 seconds
By Miles Downard
Well … I think the title says it all … so rather than reading my waffle, here's the video.
Okay so now that you're certifiably stunned, here are some facts about the Koenigsegg One:1.
The record-beating acceleration and deceleration tests were conducted at a practice session at Koenigsegg's test track in Sweden. The development car used was 50kg heavier than 'standard' thanks to the roll cage. It might have had a few other tweaks they didn't mention too. To cap it all off, Christian von Koenigsegg (the company's owner) reckons the car can do the run faster still.
The brave man behind the wheel was Koenigsegg's works driver Robert Serwanski. You'll probably have noticed that he took his hands off the wheel at around 320km/h. Perhaps he belongs in a padded cell wearing a straight jacket, rather than driving mental Swedish supercars.
The full stats from the run: 0-300km/h in 11.92s versus 300-0km/h in 6.03s.
