Norwegian driver Petter Solberg won a second world title on Sunday when he clinched the rallycross championship, 11 years after winning the world rally crown.

The 39-year-old made sure of the title when he finished third at the Franciacorta race near Brescia in Italy.

Solberg was world rally champion in 2003 and won 13 rounds between 2002 and 2005 for Subaru.

Sunday also proved to be a day of double celebration as Solberg's son, Oliver, won a third Norwegian karting title.
