The New York Times is back in South Africa, and this time its focus is on political violence. In a shocking, long-form article, the newspaper writes about the brutal murders of ANC politicians by other ANC politicians.

According to the New York Times, ANC politicians are hiring professional hit men to eliminate rivals and those who speak out against corruption and theft. It’s a horrifying but important article that every South African should read. Political violence is rising around the world, and nations like Kenya and Uganda have seen terrible outbreaks of political violence in recent years that have scarred the democratic process. It’s important that South Africa doesn’t permit political violence to become a habit.
