The big guns are still coming for Netflix, and while their US subscriber numbers came in below expectations; it's the international growth that's shining bright. The media company now has 167 million subscribers worldwide and as Vestact CEO Paul Theron said in his morning newsletter; "I made a forecast (thumb suck) that one day Netflix will have a billion customers, each paying them $50 a month. Imagine their scale and profitability then." Netflix does not report on its subscriber base in South Africa, but estimates from MultiChoice have put it in the region of 300,000 to 400,000 people. Netflix is in the Biznews Global portfolio so don't miss the webinar next week 28 January where Alec Hogg will give an update. You can register here. – Stuart Lowman
