With many, including SpaceX founder Elon Musk, saying the 'less-vulnerable' should go to work, Google has taken a firmer stance. The tech giant has pushed back the return to normalcy by saying it will keep its employees working from home until 2021. By doing so, along with its parent company Alphabet Inc, Google has become the first US corporation to formalise a much-needed extended timetable in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. While US President Donald Trump has hypocritically pushed for the economy to reopen, Google's Sundar Pichai took a much more responsible and proactive stance. In a mail to employees, Pichai stated he wanted to "give employees the ability to plan ahead," with the CEO expressing his concerns over the need to balance work with the taking care of loved ones.
