A few weeks ago, my colleague of the past two decades, BizNews editor Jackie Cameron, suggested it was high time for me to start a long-form podcast. From that idea emerged the ostentatiously named The Alec Hogg Show – the first time in a lengthy career I've used my name in the title. Forgive me for caving on that.

Yesterday, we published its seventh episode, the most challenging thus far as Allen Ambor is so interesting that editing our chat to 30 minutes required dropping half of it. Then again, Allen may thank me one day for omitting some caustic comments. He's sure to repeat them, though, in a biography now being working on with the peerless Gus Silber. Allen expects it will be ready by Christmas. One for the stocking.
