Register here.If you prefer WhatsApp for updates, sign up to the BizNews channel here..Issued by the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.The High Court, Gauteng Local Division, Johannesburg, sitting as an urgent court, granted an interdict against Mantengu Limited and Mr Michael Miller, the CEO of Mantengu Mining, from publishing any false allegations that the JSE, any of its directors or employees, are complicit in unlawful activities relating to the manipulation of Mantengu's share price. The allegations made by Mantengu Limited and Mr Miller of unlawful trading in the company’s shares were investigated by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), the regulatory body that regulates the financial sector to ensure fair, transparent and responsible market conduct and is also responsible for investigating potential share price manipulation. The FSCA investigation found no evidence of share price manipulation nor evidence of the involvement of any JSE director or employee in any unlawful or impermissible trading activities. This was published by the FSCA when it announced its findings in May 2025.The JSE has provided a comprehensive answer to Mantengu and Mr Miller's allegations in its court papers. This explanation and the objective evidence in support thereof makes it clear that their allegations are not true. The JSE has obtained expert forensic evidence that the alleged e-mails relied on by Mantengu and Mr Miller are either fake or they do not originate from the e-mail addresses of the other individuals that were falsely accused. The JSE will institute an action for defamation against Mantengu, Mr. Miller and any other entity or person involved in the dissemination and publication of the false accusations against the JSE, its directors and employees.
