SunEx has launched a new offering in the market, focused on tenanted property owners who are willing to rent out their rooftop space. The innovative solution provides property owners with a fixed monthly rental income for up to 20 years, while giving tenants access to reliable, cleaner, and more affordable electricity. 

How the Roof Rental Solution Works

SunEx evaluates the solar potential of the property owner at no cost. If the property qualifies, a long-term rooftop rental agreement is signed. SunEx then installs a solar system on the rooftop and takes full responsibility for:

• Installation and commissioning

• System performance and monitoring

• Maintenance and repairs

• Insurance coverage

• Billing and collections

This means property owners receive fixed rental income without any upfront investment or ongoing operational responsibilities.

Tenants benefit from lower electricity costs and more reliable, sustainable energy, making the property more attractive and enhancing tenant satisfaction.

Already Have Solar? SunEx Will Buy Your System

For properties with existing solar installations, SunEx can acquire the current system and transition the property owner into the same long-term rental arrangement. This allows the property owner to unlock fixed rental income while transferring all operational and maintenance risks to SunEx.

Who Qualifies for This Opportunity?

This offering is only available to properties that meet the following criteria:

• Located in South Africa

• Monthly electricity consumption exceeding R100,000

• Properties with long-term tenants
