Honeypots and badgers. Vulnerability as simple as switching decks.
Hacking is on the rise and business is under immense pressure to safeguard your information. Honeypots are part of the solution.
Hacking is a reality further spurred on by increased global unemployment. And while sensitive information is behind lock and key, what happens when there's a breach?
I was sitting at a cafe eating nachos and mini-burgers with a mate of mine this week, while being played by a simple card trick, one that is used on hackers.
They're called honeypots, like a deck switch in this case. The two look the same but the contents are very different. They're being used like decoys on hackers to raise an alarm if there's a breach. A bit like when the badger gets caught with his nose in the jar.
And while it's no fail-safe system, business is under immense pressure to safeguard your information and this is part of the solution.
