Biznews is looking for an uncle in the accounting business

Over the weekend when Warren Buffett was asked what he would advise someone starting out, he suggested they look for a job they’d be prepared to do for free. Here at Biznews, we’re keen to find someone with the same mindset – but at least in the beginning, they’d literally need to be comfortable just being a volunteer.

As our operations have expanded, the numbers side is sucking up an increasing amount of my energy. I’d love some help. And my dream would be finding someone mature, numerate, trustworthy and with a couple hours a week on their hands.

That kind of job description would appeal only to a very niche audience. Most likely someone who has retired, is financially comfortable but would like to contribute to the ambitious goals we’ve set ourselves. Maybe Mr Numerate will tell us it’s time to take on investors. Hopefully not. We’re having too much fun to start getting serious. Not just yet anyway.

If you’re our uncle in the accounting business, and would consider giving us a couple pro bono hours a week of your time, please drop me a mail at [email protected].
