Among the benefits of a long-haul flight is catching up on movies. Although the critics were muted, Disney's movie Tomorrowland gave me a couple of hours entertainment on the way home. And from her efforts in this saga, we're sure to see a lot more of 13 year old actress Raffey Cassidy.

But what will stay with me long after the special effects have been forgotten, was the reminder in the movie of an old Cherokee chestnut that's rather appropriate for challenges South Africa is tackling.

We all host two wolves locked in an endless battle, the saying goes. One is good, teaching joy, peace, love, hope, truth and kindness. The other evil, spreading anger, envy, arrogance, resentment, lies and ego. The winner, quite simply, is the one we feed.

Over the past week there were early signs that ordinary South Africans want the nation to stop feeding the evil wolf. That's the best welcome home any weary traveller could wish for.
