Apple: Perspective please. Only nine iPhone6 “Bendgate” complaints.
Although the Watergate Scandal happened more than four decades back, its impact remains. The media loves tagging "gate" onto any new scandal – incorrectly escalating the matter to the level of the one which saw a US President being forced to resign. Latest is "Bendgate" which has bedevilled the launch of Apple's iPhone6. Since the launch earlier this week, a video that shows the phone being permanently bent out of shape has been viewed a staggering 31m times in Youtube. Apple responded strongly last night – of the 10m iPhone6's sold in the first three days after launch, it says, complaints of those that bent can be counted on the fingers of two hands. So Steve Jobs can relax upstairs. As can the rest of Apple's fans. – AH
Apple shares closed down nearly 4 percent at $97.87 on Thursday, wiping out nearly $23 billion in market value.
The new phones face criticism over their bendability, dubbed "bendgate." Social media and online forums have been abuzz with comments about how the new phones can bend when placed in back pockets or while wearing skinny jeans.

"It's not game over for Apple, but nor should we give them a pass on this," Gauna said.
