Copies of the Financial Times newspaper sit in a rack at a newsstand in London, Britain July 23, 2015. British publisher Pearson has decided to sell the Financial Times to a "global, digital news company" after owning the business newspaper for nearly 60 years, a person familiar with the deal said on Thursday. Pearson, which has become the world's leading education provider, later confirmed that it was in advanced discussions regarding a potential disposal of FT group, which includes the pink-paged paper, its website and its share in the Economist, but declined to provide further details. As captured list grows – remember ‘Sunday Times test’
The Sunday Times test is to make sure you're comfortable with anything you do being the lead story of the local newspaper.
The onset of digital has made once private matters more public. The #GuptaLeaks mails a case in point, as the shredder machine doesn't work as well online.
And as new names are implicated in the 'State Capture' matter on a daily basis, a recent meeting reminded me of a thing called the 'Sunday Times test'.
The theory is that with anything you do, make sure you're comfortable with it being the lead story of the local newspaper.
Something to remember the next time one's faced with the question: 'Are you in?'
