Courage comes in many forms, and is all around us

Courage comes in many forms, but mostly it personifies selflessness. It exists all over, not just in those canonised by the court of public opinion.

Our world is full of amazing, inspirational people.

Yesterday delivered a reminder via a pal who has been diagnosed with a dread disease. Instead of accepting the low odds of the usual toxic treatment, he has kicked against conventional "wisdom" and is trusting his instincts. That has taken him on a research mission yielding fascinating results.

Our discussion, however, didn't dwell on how much better he is looking since we last saw each other. Instead this remarkable man invested a couple hours sharing how a change in diet has made a huge difference – and encouraging me to choose the same approach and enjoy similar benefits.

Courage comes in many forms, but mostly it personifies selflessness. It exists all over, not just in those canonised by the court of public opinion. Man, fundamentally, is good. And nothing is more powerful than the truth. Even though we occasionally require a good dollop of patience to witness it being proven.
