Greetings from London – chilly weather but, as ever, a city pounding with enthusiasm and energy. Except among South Africans when conversation swings to the Nightmare on Maude Street – those couple days last month when Jacob G Zuma single handedly wiped R500bn off the value of SA stocks and bonds.

I spent much of my time since that fateful 9 December researching why SA's President did something so dumb. The digging included some in-depth analysis into all the relevant factors and the central characters influencing the disaster. The fruits of that labour are contained in a 25 000 word Biznews Special Report now available for download. The Kindle version costs $5.99 while the PDF is $4.99 – get more details by clicking here.

Over the next three days I'll be doing presentations on Nenegate here in London. If you're in the city and would like to come along to Friday's Biznews community breakfast event, please drop me a mail. It's free but you do need to register. And spaces are filling fast.
