While denying any personal ambitions for the presidency, Hersov positions himself as a public advocate for radical reform and a stronger international response to South Africa’s deteriorating political and economic trajectory.Hersov’s remarks were prompted by the viral Oval Office meeting between US President Donald Trump and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, during which Trump aired videos of Julius Malema and his supporters chanting “Kill the Boer.” Hersov lauded Trump’s framing of white farmer attacks as an early-stage genocide, drawing parallels to Nazi Germany in 1933.
