Wednesday’s rolling blackouts end eight hours early

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) – South African power utility Eskom said it would stop Wednesday’s rolling blackouts at 1400 local time, eight hours ahead of the earlier communicated time.

The cash-strapped company has implemented power cuts for three consecutive days in a bid to prevent the national grid from being overwhelmed as demand threatens to outstrip capacity in Africa’s most advanced economy.
