Brilliant: While the Nation sleeps…Who’s burning the midnight oil?

The Oilgate saga, just like the SABC, highlights the blatant disregard for rule and law by deployed cadres. And while Hlaudi Motsoeneng stands defiant in the face of adversity, not one person has been brought to book on the missing oil billions. Energy Minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson told the country the strategic fuel reserves netted R5 billion. The auditor general however said only R3.9 billion of this supposed total made it into the national coffers. And this all well below the R6.5 billion the reserves should have fetched. And despite all this, there has not been a whiff of an investigation. But how did this all play out? Clarke Kent recently put together a comic strip on the life lessons SAA’s Dudu Myeni teaches her son. And off the back of that success his latest submission looks at how the billions were made in South Africa’s #oilgate saga. Great stuff. – Stuart Lowman
