Boardroom Talk – Rare gems abound as 99 year old Charlie Munger holds court at home

This weekend, Berkshire Hathaway shareholders descend on Omaha for the annual general meeting – and to listen to the wisdom of the company's leaders Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger. Dozens of South Africans are among them, including the Kokkie Kooyman, taking his umpteenth group to the American Midwest.

Ahead of my first Berkshire Hathaway AGM 17 years ago, with Kokkie leading the part of course, veterans suggested I don't delay because "Warren and Charlie won't be around forever." Now 92 and 99, respectively, the burger-munching, coke-swilling, peanut brittle-chomping duo have way outlived those predictions.
